Muaythai fans in Hong Kong were treated to an exciting tournament as eight countries battled for medals at the East Asian Muaythai Championships. Among the stand-out results was an impressive eight gold medals for host nation Hong Kong and nine for nine by The Philippines when every athlete on the team won a medal.
The East Asian muaythai championships kick off this week in Hong Kong with teams from eight countries already in place. The 2017 Championships was a huge success, and the Hong Kong Muaythai Association is looking to build on that to further develop the sport of muaythai in the region.
IFMA and FAMA received high praise for organizing this year’s All Chinese Championship, fully supported and organized by the Macau Muaythai Association and the Macau government. Both the President of the WMC, General Chetta Thanajaro, and the General Secretary of IFMA, Mr. Stephan Fox were present.
