The IFMA Athletes Commission invited the IFMA Athletes of the world to the 2022 IFMA Athletes Conference at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center. The conference was hosted by the IFMA Athletes Commission Chair, Janice Lyn from Canada and Vice Chair, Lennert Swart from South Africa.


IFMA believes education is the key to success and the conference covered two very important topics in the current world of sport; safeguarding and anti-doping. Special speakers James Tucker from Real World Academies and Mairi Irvin from the International Testing Agency to speak about athlete safeguarding and doping respectively.

James Tucker, the Managing Director of Real World Academies, covered several topics with respect to athlete protection and abuse and provided tips on how to take action in the event athletes find themselves in difficult situations.


Mairi Irvine, Education Officer of the International Testing Agency, spoke to the athletes about the prohibited list, the doping control process and supplements amongst other popular anti-doping topics.


The conference was closed with special guest, the IFMA Secretary General, Stephan Fox, in true Fox Style, summing up the topics covered in the conference with pop quiz questions and prizes to be won by keen athletes.
