The Uzbekistan Muaythai Federation under the Presidency of Mr. Avaz Karimov held the 2024 National Championships as the final qualifier for the IFMA World Championships 2024. The event was held in the National Sport Arena for over 5 days with over 700 athletes both male and female from all Uzbekistan regions competing to earn their ticket.

The event was opened by the National Olympic Committee and Sports Ministry of Uzbekistan with the National Guard walking in the National Flag with FAMA and the IFMA flag side by side.

President Karimov stated that Uzbekistan is a proud member of IFMA and in 2011 hosted the very successful IFMA World Championships. Over the last years, grassroots development has been on top of their agenda which is very much paying off.

His Excellency Abdullah Al Neyadi, the President of the Asian Federation FAMA stated, “Uzbekistan, as one of the founding IFMA and FAMA members, is known as a sporting nation and muaythai is one of the leading sports in their country.”

IFMA President, Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan thanked the National Olympic Committee and will continue to support muaythai in Uzbekistan both as a cultural art and ring sport.

General Secretary Mr. Jamshidbek Bekmurodov hailed the success of this event in the press conference and thanked the National Olympic Committee and Sports Ministry, IFMA and FAMA for their support and Uzbekistan is ready to host another major muaythai event in the coming years.
