From July 16–26, 2025, the vibrant province of Ubon Ratchathani proudly hosts the 26th Thailand Sports School Games, uniting student athletes from across the Kingdom—and beyond—for a dynamic celebration of youth sport, cultural heritage, and international friendship.

Held at Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University, this year’s Games feature 19 sports disciplines, including the highly anticipated Muaythai competition. With athletes competing in age categories under 14, 16, and 18, Muaythai continues to play a central role in fostering youth development, promoting well-being, and strengthening national identity.

The festivities began with a vibrant Opening Ceremony attended by distinguished guests and leaders in sport and education:

Their presence underscored the importance of this event in shaping the future of Thai sport while honoring tradition and community engagement.

In a landmark gesture of cross-border cooperation, the 2025 edition proudly welcomes student athletes from Sekolah Sukan Brunei Darussalam, reinforcing the spirit of unity and regional camaraderie through sport.

Exclusively designed for Thailand’s network of Sports Schools, the Games serve as a vital platform for developing future champions. Each sport requires representation from at least three Sports Schools or affiliated agencies, with exhibition matches organized when necessary to ensure every athlete gains meaningful experience and development.

Coinciding with the province’s iconic Candle Festival (July 9–13), the Ubon Ratchathani Games blend athletic excellence with cultural celebration, placing physical movement, creativity, and community spirit at the heart of the July spotlight.

The 2025 edition reaffirms the enduring power of youth, tradition, and sport as catalysts for national pride and regional progress—placing Muaythai and Thai sport firmly at the forefront.

This celebration also aligns with the global mission of the Gymnasiade, the flagship international multi-sport event organized biennially by the International School Sport Federation (ISF) for youth aged 13–18. The most recent 2024 Summer Gymnasiade in Manama, Bahrain brought together young athletes from around the world in a spirit of unity and excellence.

The ISF, a proud member of SportAccord and an IOC-recognized organization, shares a close partnership with IFMA, working together to promote youth empowerment through sport, cultural appreciation, and education—values that lie at the very heart of the Olympic Movement.
