The grand opening of the Universiade in Gwangju, Korea takes place today, 3rd July at the Universiade Main Stadium and will be a unique event introduced under Eco & Economic, Peace & Development, IT & Communication, and Culture & Education.

Muaythai has joined FISU family this year holding the outstanding Muaythai University World Cup with universities from more than 40 countries sending their students to promote the image of their schools, clubs and countries among athletic circles.

Gwangju is the first Universiade host city to sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the UN to work with youth same as muaythai being a firm partner of the UN campaign UNiTE to End Violence Against Women.

IFMA will keep promoting social equality in and outside sport cites and is ready to join efforts with all FISU stakeholders for the upcoming 2018 World University Championships to fulfill and share honour, tradition, respect and fair play in sport which are integral parts of all muaythai events.
