Over ten thousand children will participate in the WMC, IFMA and AMTAT cultural event, in cooperation with the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority in honour of HRH Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn’s 60th birthday.

Muaythai is a martial art which includes many aspects: self-defense, competition, fitness, musical performance, and more. Simply put, it is a sport for every body. The 28th of July is a very important day in the Thai calendar, as it marks the birthday of HRH the Crown Prince. This year, in honour of His Royal Highness’ birthday, a three-day Muaythai festival will be organized, culminating on July 27th.

Preparations started months ago all over Thailand, in order to have children’s competitions covering all aspects of Muaythai: Muay Aerobic, Nata Muaythai, the Wai-khru, Muay Boran and playing music. The goal of the project is to take children from all walks of life and bring them together through the sport and art of Muaythai. “Sport Is Your Gang” is a campaign launched this year by the WMC and IFMA to take children at risk from gang-influences in the street, and to bring them into the larger sporting family. It is an honour to say that this campaign has been integrated into the Muaythai festival.
