China is a country with a proud martial arts history, the country of wushu, kung fu which history goes back thousands of years.

Chinese martial art is filled with ancient traditions and values like muaythai and therefore there is a very close relationship between the two martial arts.

The first edition of World Combat Games in 2010 was a huge success and who can forget the amazing opening with Jet Lee representing Chinese wushu and Jackie Chan singing the hymn of the games.

A memorandum of understanding signed by WMC and IFMA with the Chinese Government will be sanctioned and coordinated with the World Muaythai Council (WMC) on the national level and International Federation of Muaythai Amateur (IFMA) on the amateur level.

IFMA is working closely with the Chinese Wushu Association not just in SportAccord and other international events and the WMC has appointed Mr. Veera Pluemsiriwong as the representative and coordinator of WMC in the People’s Republic of China.

Recently there have been rumours that other people or organisations claim to be the representatives which is false and untrue.

Recently Mr. Peng Liu, the Minister of Sport of China came to Bangkok to meet the President of WMC and IFMA to continue the close cooperation wishing IFMA best of luck to the IOC recognition and continue the close relationship not only between the countries but also the two sports and martial arts which are filled with traditions.China1
