The Muaythai Association of Hong Kong, China, one of the oldest and most esteemed members of the International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA), continues to set benchmarks in the world of Muaythai. Fully recognized by the National Olympic Committee and the Sports Ministry, the association oversees over 150 member gyms and is the sole Muaythai governing body under the Hong Kong government.
Renowned for its dedication to youth development, gender equality, and hosting high-profile events, the association is once again in the spotlight. This weekend, it will host the much-anticipated 2024 East Asian Muaythai Championship at the iconic Queen Elizabeth Stadium from November 28th to December 1st.
This year’s championship has drawn participants from Hong Kong, China, Bangladesh, Chinese Taipei, Macau, South Korea, Mongolia and India. The event promises to be a spectacular showcase of world-class athletes vying to improve their rankings for the 2025 World Games in China.
However, the championship is not just about competition. The event will feature a range of enriching activities, including educational coaching and referee workshops, anti-doping seminars with the athletes, and a thrilling World Muaythai Council (WMC) fight night with three championship belts on the line.
