On Saturday, 18th of May, the island of Funen will see its first ever amateur Muaythai event, in the island’s main city, Odense. Some people will know the city as the birthplace of Denmark’s famous author, Hans Christian Andersen.
As Denmark’s third largest city, Muaythai continues its expansion across the country, thanks to the work of the Danish Muaythai Federation.
The last weekend of May, Saturday the 25th, will see another edition of “Upcoming Fighters” in Albertslund.
The event is organised for less experienced fighters to improve in a ring competition setting, with the goal being to develop fighters throughout Scandinavia, from the grassroots. At the same time, the Muaythai federations and gyms in the Scandinavian countries build good relations with one another, for continued future cooperation.
