KOH SAMUI – Thailand just hosted the Four Season’s Hotel Cancer Care Charity Run this past weekend on the 24th of May. Lamai Fitness and Lamai Muaythai Gym participated again this year in the annual Charity run organized by the Four Season’s hotel.
Lamai Fitness placed First in the women’s 10k and Second in the men’s 10k. Lamai Fitness Owner Billy Orr and local gym enthusiast Fiona Mann also raised over 90,000 Thai Baht for the Childrens Baby Unit in Koh Samui from local business.
Billy and Fiona were one of the only few who completed the Great Wall of China Marathon on the 1st of May after four months of intense training. Congratulations are also in order for Billy and Fiona for finishing the Great Wall of China Marathon, especially for a great cause! A special thank you also goes out to Ralphe Beale, proprietor of Lamai gym for all his hard work and help.
They are still looking for donations for this great cause, the more they visit the Children’s Unit, the more they realise how much help and new equipment is needed. “These kids are the future generation and to see them so deprived of what we take for granted in Western standards is heart-breaking,” recalls Fiona. Billy and Fiona’s next upcoming challenge is an Ironman in Malaysia (4k swim, 180k bike, 52k run), which they will continue to compete in for charity, so they will need all the support they can get. They are currently looking for a sponsor to supply them both with triathlon bikes (new or used) and they will train and race with their sponsors’ logos on their bikes as well as apparel. This will be a long-term commitment as they both plan to participate in many more events for different charities over the coming years.
If you are interested in supporting their cause and would like to donate and help out, you can email Billy for more details in company sponsorship for the triathlon bike or click on the link below for information on donating!
