Who would know the Field of Play better than a former IFMA World Champion? Dmitry Putilin, President of the Russian Muaythai Federation is an example of how IFMA athletes continue their career in the sport after retirement from their athletic career; contributing to the development sport and most importantly to the athletes.
Dmitry Putilin recently chaired the final phase coordination meeting with the Local Organising Committee and IFMA. He concluded that everything was well on track for the IFMA World Championships 2016 in Jönköping, Sweden.
As in IFMA tradition, the centre, the heart, is the athletes coming together to celebrate friendship, cultural exchange, excellence in competition, education and importantly to depart with lasting memories and life experiences of an outstanding event.
What makes Putilin the perfect candidate to handle the delicate and detailed tasks of Technical Delegate is that he understands the needs of the athletes, being a former athlete, and also as an experienced sports administrator not only in muaythai but for other Olympic sports. Alongside the fact that Russia hosted of 2012 IFMA World Championships, there are so many ideal elements to ensure the success.
Thumbs up for Jönköping as progress of preparations are all within the strategic plan. The cooperation between IFMA, chaired by the Sport Director Mrs Tynan, the General Management of the Swedish LOC Mr Jonas Elfving, and everyone else involved, have ensured that hurdles are stepping stones to success.
