Two months before the biggest martial arts event ever to take place, the SportAccord Combat Games, China organised their national muaythai championships to select the last warriors to represent China in the Games.

The 88 elite muaythai fighters from 32 qualifying countries will travel to Beijing on Aug 27th to be part of this event.

The Chinese national team will have fighters from all areas of China, to compete against the powerhouses of Thailand, Russia, Belarus, Australia, Canada, Ukraine etc.

 

IFMA General Secretary Stephan Fox was guest of honour at the China Championships, and said that “China is definitely ready for the challenge ahead; muaythai has become very popular in China. The opening ceremony was very impressive and the 4 days of competition had some very close matches. “

 

China as the host country for the SportAccord Combat Games will have 11 spots, and the final 11 will go now into intensive training for the next 2 months in order to make China proud.
