Bangkok, Thailand – Muaythai, the iconic sport of Siam, took center stage during an extraordinary three-day festival at one of Bangkok’s most renowned landmarks, Icon Siam. Dedicated to celebrating the youth of the world, the festival kicked off with a spectacular Opening Ceremony that also honored the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This dual celebration highlighted core values of inclusion, non-discrimination, and awareness, showcasing the sport’s commitment to breaking barriers and creating opportunities for all.
The festival brought together over 250 young participants who engaged in vibrant performances, cultural activities, and thrilling competitions. The day concluded with 20 electrifying youth matches, held in a breathtaking venue and broadcast live to a global audience, further cementing Muaythai’s reputation as a sport that unites and inspires.
Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan, President of IFMA and AMTAT, reflected on the festival’s mission, stating, “This event is a powerful reminder of the importance of empowering young people of all abilities and ensuring their voices are heard. IFMA, AMTAT, and PAT will continue to foster inclusive environments where everyone has a place and opportunity to thrive.”
With its resounding theme, “Muaythai for Everybody,” the festival reaffirmed the sport’s universal appeal and its dedication to creating a more inclusive and equitable future.
The excitement continues over the next two days, with today’s events focusing on the first round of qualifications for the IFMA World Championship 2025, to be held in Istanbul. Over 200 athletes are ready to step into the ring and take center stage, showcasing their talent, determination, and the true spirit of Muaythai.
