Mauritius which is part of the beautiful Indian Ocean is a place that embraces every energy and this weekend it was a muaythai island. The Mauritian Muaythai Federation under the presidency of Sham Seetaram staged a muaythai gala. History was made with regard to IFMAs policy on full inclusion with the first female Indian Ocean title fight being held on the island.
The event featured 12 IFMA and WMC-sanctioned contests and it was Gael Sangahopou who stole the evening by becoming the local hero, winning the championship cup.
Gael thanked the Mauritius Muaythai Federation for their vision, stating that female muaythai has become very popular and that her next big dream is to represent Mauritius in the 2025 World Games in China to showcase female Mauritius power to the world.
