Our esteemed President Dr Sakchye Tapsuwan certainly proved that age is simply a number at the 2010 SportAccord Convention in Dubai.
The President led the charge in our morning beach workouts and demonstrated that he definitely still has all the right moves! from start to finish Dr Sakchye put participants half his age to shame as he ran through the sand during the warm-up, threw perfectly executed kicks and punches throughout the session, gave technical instruction tips to all participants, and astounded us all with his flexibility during the stretching and cool-down. If there was ever any doubt as to how ‘hands-on” (and “legs-on”) our President is prepared to be, then the pictures of the highly popular exercise sessions should speak for themselves!
Congratulations President, for showing everyone how it should be done and proving that muaythai really is for every body, and also that to be the President you should be knowledgeable in the theoretical and practical aspects of the sport you represent. For the IFMA President is a very humble man, but has been involved in sport all his life: a Doctor in Sports Management, former World Vice President of AIBA, former Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand, member of the Sports Commission of the Olympic Committee of Asia, Technical Chairman of the 1998 Asian Games and the 2007 SEA Games, former Governor of the Sport Authority of Thailand……. and if this is not enough, he also is a former Lumpini Stadium referee and even a qualified FIFA referee!!
For sure IFMA has a President with a kick!!
