One of Asias and Thailand most prestigious venues, The Icon Siam will be the heart of Muaythai from the 3rd to the 5th of December. The muaythai festival which celebrates the soft power of muaythai will see three world class events within the event.
The event, which is a joint cooperation between the Royal Thai government the Sport Authority of Thailand and The National Sports Development Fund, the Amateur Muaythai Association of Thailand, the PAT and IFMA the world governing body for Muaythai recognised bu the International Olympic Committee.
The Opening of the event will kick off wiht a gala night on Saturday the 3rd which will see many performances from the renowned “Muaythai Live Performance Troupe” as well as a Thai fashion show.
Sunday 4th will be the day to support the grassroots development where the muaythai youth will come together to showcase all the traditional and cultural aspects of muaythai from wai kru, muay kita, muay boran and krabi krabong and youth competition. The performances will be televised nationally.
Monday the 5th of December will see the ultimate spectacular highlight. The day is a national holiday in Thailand, celebrated by the nation as national Father’s day in honour of the birthday celebrations of His late Majesty King Rama the 9th Bhumipol Adulyadej. The gala event will culminate in 15 world class muaythai bouts between some of the world’s best.
