Winning the overall team competition is always one of the highest honours for a country to receive, and it was no different at this year’s Kids and Junior World Championships.
It was a very close head-to-head in the male division between Ukraine, Turkey, Belarus and Russia. In the end it was Turkey, the home team, with the support of the enthusiastic crowd, which won the best male team. Ukraine came second and Russia was third.
In the female best team category, it was an even closer, coming down to one point. Again Turkey won, with Team England a very close second, and Belarus a close third.
Best male boxer of the competition went to Ruslan Rybakov 71 kg Russia, and best female went to Julia Lenglet 63.5 kg from France.
The fairplay and sportsmanship award for the competition went to Team England. The curtain went down on an amazing event, and bidding has started already for the host of the 2014 Kids and Junior World Championships.
