IFMA is proud to announce that Jimmy Vienot (FRA) will represent Muaythai in the Athlete of the Year 2019 vote and will be among 37 sports to run for the title.


Jimmy Vienot made his name in IFMA winning three gold medals in his three events in a row dominating in one of the most competitive divisions – 75 kg. He is famous for his numerous victories and collection of belts he won over his career. One of his latest achievements was winning the WMC World Title at the top Muaythai stadium Lumpinee.
Last year the French Muaythai Federation announced that Jimmy joined the national team for the European Muaythai Championships 2018 in Prague and thousands of martial arts followers followed his appearance at the new format of the competition he never competed before. Today Jimmy has three gold medals in three events (European Muaythai Championships 2019 , World Muaythai Championships 2019 , European Muaythai Championships 2019) becoming an undisputed favourite of the 75 kg weight division and having 12 victories in a row in all IFMA events. His achievements brought team France to the top of each IFMA event medal ranking. For the young French athletes Jimmy became a true leader and inspiration to excel in Muaythai.

 

Jimmy was awarded IFMA Best Athlete of EC2018 and WC2019, and his nomination for the IWGA Athlete of the Year is a logical step for his great performance.
Last year Svetlana Vinnikova ended the contest with 20,657 votes. This is a huge achievement as it’s the highest number of votes recorded for Muaythai in this contest.
From January 1st 2019 Muaythai followers can again vote every day for Muaythai to be given the Athlete of the Year Award and Jimmy Vienot is the best candidate to represent IFMA at this important nomination.
