Iraq has been one of the strongest federations in the Middle East boasting strong presence at every IFMA events and multisports games Muaythai is part of.
Great results, grass root development, female representation and much more allowed the Iraqi Muaythai Federation to be eligible for the highest sports recognition in Iraq. This is the best evidence of the great leadership Iraqi Muaythai has had throughout years and this year a new President, Mr Mustafa Jabbar Alaq took the office to continue moving Muaythai in Iraq towards the highest accolades.
Mr Alaq has been one of the founding members of the federation and won many medals as a federation national coach. In his speech at the general assembly, he said that he is honoured to take this position and is honoured to continue the work started by his predecessors.
IFMA wishes Mr. Alaq to continue great work with the Iraqi athletes promoting their country in the IFMA international events.
The NOC of Iraq witnessed the elections and the witness from IFMA was Mr Sami Kiblawi and IFMA congratulates the new Executive Board and the President and will be happy of the future cooperation.
