Amisha Azrilrizall from Malaysia received a hero’s welcome on her return home following her victory at the Youth World Championships. Coming from the province of Perak Darul Ridzuan and attending the high school of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Gunung Rapat Amisha made her dream come true when she won her spot in the national team of Malaysia to the IFMA youth world championship 2016. Coming as an outsider in the game she beat contenders from Europe and Oceania to book her spot in the final against the Bangkok school champion Phimphong Ratchada in a fight which will be remembered by two outstanding young female athletes it was Malaysia that beat the home champion bringing the gold medal home to Malaysia.

Amisha stated that this was one of the proudest moments in her life and the message of her victory reached every part of Malaysia within seconds and a hero welcome was prepared for her return by the entire town and school with special wishes from the Dato Shahnaz Azmi, the president of Malaysian Muaythai said that a success like this and the smiles and celebrations after make it all worthwhile and that this is a fantastic boost for all going to the 2017 SEA games in which Muaythai is included.
