The beautiful city of Abu Dhabi will host the IFMA 2022 World Championships from May 26 to June 4th. Approximately 100 countries are expected to participate in this 10-day event which will be the first official qualifier for The World Combat Games 2023.
The President of the UAE Muaythai Federation His Excellency Abudullah Al Neyadi stated that Abu Dhabi is proud to have been given the trust by the IFMA Executives after the successful 2019 Asian Championships.
IFMA Director General Charissa Tynan has given her thumbs up on the site visit. The event will be held at the state-of-the-art Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) showcasing Muaythai as an IOC recognized art and sport.
The CEO and Executive Director of the UAE Muaythai Federation, Tareq Al Muhairi, stated that sustainability is key for this event and this is why the convention center was chosen.
Besides the athletes, many VIPs will be flying to Abu Dhabi to be part of the many conferences, workshops and the IFMA World Athletes Forum.
The chair of the IFMA Athletes Commission, Janice Lyn, stated that the athletes are very excited to be able to travel again after the pandemic. For many, this will be the final test before the 2022 World Games in Birmingham and the UAE Muaythai Federation is known for their hospitality, so we are all excited for Abu Dhabi 2022!
