Born in Bac Giang, Vietnam and only 24 years old, the hard working and ever talented Bui Yen Ly took her division by storm in this year’s IFMA World Championships.
Bui Yen graciously thanked IFMA for the opportunities that have been made for her to compete and prestigious accolades and win medals not only in IFMA World Championships but also prestigious multi-sport events recognized by the IOC throughout her career. She most definitely has taken advantage of the opportunities given to her because her Fighter Bio is quite impressive:
– 2019 IFMA Gold Medalist
– 2018 IFMA Silver Medalist
– 2017 World Games Gold Medal
– 2017 Indoor Games Gold Medal
– 2016 Asian Beach Games Gold Medal
– 2016 IFMA Silver Medalist
– 2014 Asian Beach Games Gold Medal
– 2014 IFMA Gold Medalist
– 2013 SEA Games Gold Medal
– 2013 Indoor Games Silver Medal
Bui Yen first started practicing muaythai for self-defence at age 16 with permission from her parents. Her coaches immediately saw her potential and talent and asked her to compete shortly after she began training. In addition to winning medals and prestigious awards throughout the year, Bui Yen is also a student at Bac Ninh Sport University studying Vietnam Sport and will complete her last year in 2020.
Congratulations Bui Yen from the IFMA Family on all your achievements! We are very proud of you and you are certainly an Ambassador of Muaythai athletes for both your physical strength and talent, the modesty and respect you show in and outside the ring and the work ethic you display in your training and scholarly efforts.
