The spirit of Muaythai is alive and thriving as the Ukrainian Muaythai Championship officially commenced at the Kyiv Sports Forum, gathering an impressive 300 participants from across the nation. The Ukranian Muaythai Federation, one of IFMA’s founding members is recognized by the Sports Ministry and National Olympic Committee of Ukraine.

The event, hosted in the heart of Kyiv, began with the arrival of teams, registration, weigh-ins, and health check to ensure the health and safety of the athletes yesterday. The evening saw an exciting draw that determined the matchups for the battles ahead, setting the stage for electrifying competition.

This morning, the first bouts took place, featuring junior and youth athletes ready to showcase their skills. At noon, the highly anticipated opening ceremony was held, attended by distinguished guests:

One of the standout moments of the ceremony was Anastasia Yevtushenko’s stunning Wai Kru performance, which paid homage to the rich Thai tradition, embodying the essence of Muaythai. The audience was captivated by the artistry, respect, and strength displayed in her demonstration.

With Ukraine home to some of the strongest and most skilled Muaythai fighters in the world, the IFMA Family eagerly awaits to see which athletes will rise to the top. This championship serves as a crucial stepping stone in determining the future stars who will represent Ukraine in the upcoming Senior and Youth World Championships which will take place in Antalya and Abu Dhabi respectively later this year.
