IFMA tournaments work on a pyramid structure with a broad base of youth athletes and is now showing fruits as they graduate to competing at elite level. It’s a proud moment for IFMA to see them taking their place competing with their heroes here in Prague.
Today the championships moved into a higher gear with a number of champions hoping to defend their titles jumping the ropes and taking centre stage. And outside the first Harley Davidson motorbikes arrived in the compound for the 115 year anniversary celebrations.
Today saw competition in TippSport Arena in two rings with a full day of exciting action for the first day of the European championships.
Now that all of the athletes have checked in and confirmed their weight divisions, the all-important draw could take place. So now the athletes now who they are facing in the opening bouts tomorrow and Monday.
The beautiful city of Prague is welcoming muaythai teams from across Europe this week for the start of the European muaythai championships. The huge event is being held as part of the celebrations for 115 years of Harley Davidson motorbikes.
This weekend will be another international extravaganza for Muaythai. Copenhagen will host the Danish Championship, and Canada will see the final of the Journey Series, a sold-out event in Calgary. Paris, France will see a big international event with WMC World Champion Yodsanklai taking on French superstar Lidon.
