A new agreement has been officially signed between the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) and SportAccord in Lausanne today.
Following the official opening and welcome speeches of the International Forum in Lausanne, an agreement was signed between President of ANOC Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah and President of SportAccord Marius Vizer.
IFMA the sole world federtation for muaythai recognised by SportAccord, OCA and ANOC was represented at the signing by General Secretary Stephan Fox.
The partnership aims at connecting International Sports Federations and National Olympic Committees, also in partnership with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), in order to develop a global sports movement which respects the Olympic Charter and the ideals of the governing bodies, they claimed.
IFMA and its partner Asian Continental Federation FAMA are already the controlling bodies for the upcoming Asian Beach Games under the OCA. The signing of the MOU indicates a close working agreement between the two organisations, including the establishment of a Beach Games, at the world level.
