The third important meeting took place between the Royal Thai Government, chaired by the Her Excellency Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, the Minister of Tourism and Sport, the Department of Physical Education, the Sport Authority of Thailand, the Amateur Muay Thai Association of Thailand, represented by Mr Kajorn Prowsri and IFMA represented by President Dr Sakchye Tapsuwan, General Secretary Mr Stephan Fox, and Sport Director Mrs Charissa Tynan.
The Minister thanked IFMA for bringing this important event to Thailand. Thailand is honoured to be the host country, especially with the important Royal Trophies being presented. It is not just a sporting event, it is an exchange of cultural understanding and friendship and the fact that we have over a hundred countries and over 3000 athletes and officials travelling to Thailand, shows the popularity of Muaythai as a sport and cultural art form.
IFMA President Dr Tapsuwan, highlighted the importance of the event while IFMA Sports director Mrs Tynan gave a detailed report on all the different activities held during the event, including the General Assembly Executive board meeting, the Night of Olympism, the Commission meeting and so on.
