Representatives from 57 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) gathered in Riyadh for the official Chefs de Mission Seminar, as momentum builds for the 6th edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games, to be held from 7–21 November 2025.
Organised by the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA) in partnership with the Riyadh 2025 Local Organising Committee (LOC), the two-day seminar provided comprehensive operational updates, detailed briefings, and venue tours for attending delegations.
Participants were presented with key information covering NOC services, qualification systems, accreditation and sport entry procedures, as well as medical services, anti-doping protocols, transportation plans, and media and communications strategies. The sessions encouraged active participation, offering delegates a platform to raise questions and receive direct feedback from organisers.
“The Riyadh 2025 Local Organising Committee is expanding rapidly and working closely with our international and regional partners to deliver a seamless, world-class event,” said Ian Reid, CEO of Riyadh 2025. “We look forward to welcoming all 57 member nations this November for a celebration of sport, unity, and excellence.”
As part of the seminar, delegates toured the Athletes’ Village, equipped with state-of-the-art training facilities, and key venues including the Boulevard cluster, the Prince Faisal Bin Fahad Olympic Complex, and culturally significant locations such as the camel racing and equestrian arenas. With a compact venue layout, the Games are designed to optimise convenience and enhance the athlete and spectator experience.
His Highness Prince Fahad Bin Jalawi Al-Saud, Chairman of the LOC, stated: “As we prepare to host athletes and officials from across the Islamic world, we reaffirm our commitment to promoting solidarity, peace, and cultural pride through sport. The return of the Games to Saudi Arabia marks 20 years since the inaugural edition and reflects our Kingdom’s dedication to progress, heritage, and global sporting leadership.”
The Riyadh 2025 Games will feature a dynamic and inclusive programme of 24 sports, including 19 regular sports and three para-sports. The line-up includes popular global disciplines as well as regionally cherished events, such as camel racing and equestrian. Combat sports will be strongly represented, with Muaythai proudly included.
As final preparations continue, the Riyadh 2025 LOC remains dedicated to delivering an unforgettable event that upholds the values of unity, diversity, and solidarity among the 57 ISSA member nations.
