Italy is gearing up to finalise their athletes for the national team with a 2-day event that will take place next month on the 5th and 6th of November. The best of the best from the national championships will meet to train and determine who will represent Team Italy at IFMA championships throughout the next year including the Senior Championships, FISU, the European Championships, and the World Combat Games.
The Muaythai Federation of Italy FEDERKOMBAT is fully recognised by the Italian Olympic Committee and the sports Ministry and has achieved great success, achieving two gold medals in the last year. On the professional side, they have also hosted a world champion bout between Italian muaythai prodigy Alex Avogadro and Thai fighter Petchphangan T Ded 99. Although Petchphangan emerged as the victor it was a very close fight that showcases the work the Italian federation and fighters have put in over the last few years.
Congratulations to all athletes competing in the event and see you in Bangkok for the World Championships in May 2023.
