IFMA is a full signatory of the World Anti-Doping Agency and has been praised by WADA and the Olympic movement for efforts to protect the clean athlete.
This is done through in and out of competition testing as well as educational and outreach programmes. IFMA is a proud member of the Global Association of International Sport Federations (GAISF) and has been working closely with the SportAccord and now GAISF Doping-Free Sport Unit (DFSU).

IFMA recently signed a contract with the DFSU to help manage the IFMA anti-doping programme. This will include the out of competition testing, biological passport administration, registered testing pool and whereabouts submission management and also workshops and seminars.

Dr. Erdogan Aydin, Chair of IFMA Medical Commission whom oversees the IFMA anti-doping programme stated “This was an important step in IFMA’s continued efforts in the fight against doping.”

IFMA’s hard work is showing fruit, as all doping tests from the 2017 World Championships in Minsk, TWG 2017 in Wroclaw and the 2017 Youth World Championships in Bangkok have been 100% clean, which is a very positive outcome.

The agreement was signed by the President of GAISF and SportAccord Convention Patrick Baumann and IFMA General Secretary Stephan Fox at the GAISF/SportAccord headquarters in Lausanne.
