History will be made in Bangkok with the first FISU-patronized Muaythai University World Cup. Athletes from 43 countries will participate in this event, with 43 being the exact number of countries that participated in the first ever Summer Universiade, which took place in Turin, Italy in 1959.
The event is held in cooperation with FISU, the University Sport Board of Thailand, the Royal Thai Government, and IFMA. Today’s champions are tomorrow’s leaders and they will come from all five continents. The Muaythai University World Cup is more than just a sporting event. It is a well of cultural, sporting, and educational exchange with a one day forum on Youth, Education and Sport. The forum will feature speakers from FISU, UNiTE, SportAccord, and the University Sport Board of Thailand, IFMA, and many others.
