The International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA) continues to lead the charge in promoting gender equality and combating violence against women and girls. Since 2014, IFMA has proudly partnered with UN Women, leveraging the global reach and influence of Muaythai to raise awareness and advocate for critical social issues.

“Orange Day” Initiative: A Daily Commitment

Central to this partnership is the “Orange Day” initiative, part of the UN Secretary-General’s UNiTE campaign, which designates the 25th of each month as a day to raise awareness and take action against gender-based violence. Embracing this mission, Sue Glassy, IFMA’s Vice President, declared, “For IFMA, every day is Orange Day.”

IFMA has embedded this philosophy into its daily operations and outreach efforts, ensuring a sustained commitment to creating a safer and more equitable world.

IFMA’s Key Actions and Achievements

1. Educational Programs

As an active participant in global movements like “Orange the World,” which runs annually from November 25 to December 10 during the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, IFMA organizes impactful events and activities. These initiatives amplify the message of ending violence against women and girls worldwide.

IFMA prioritizes youth involvement, fostering cultural and sporting exchanges that champion respect, honor, and fair play—core values of Muaythai that align with the principles of gender equality.
