IFMA has mourned so many passing’s but the loss of a young life and talent is particularly difficult. It is a harsh reminder that life does not play fair and when it steals the young, it feels especially cruel. It leaves behind so much sorrow as no parent should ever have to bury their child.
An accident took away the life of our most prospering 2x IFMA Youth World Champion, Nikita Chernov, on the way to support his teammates and the next generation of nak muay. Another two victims are in life threatening conditions also from the same gym.
Our prayers and thoughts go out to Nikita’s and the other victims’ family, loved ones, their gym and the national federation.
Nikita, your character, your lust for life, your sportsmanship and your smile will not be forgotten.
