It was a true honour for AIMS President, SportAccord Vice President and IFMA General Secretary Stephan Fox to have been invited during their time at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, to speak on the topic of Youth and Sustainable Development Goals at an exclusive event hosted by UN-Habitat and Nexus Brazil.
IFMA has 130 member federations and Mr Fox spoke about the responsibilities and duties a recognised sporting federations has, to use the power of sport to create a positive change. Mr Fox shared in depth the different initiatives IFMA has in cooperation with Peace and Sport, Generations for Peace, UN Women and UNESCO; that every national federation has the responsibility to participate in the social projects. Mr Fox also explained that there is no universal concept and the federations can tackle the problems within their community using the resources IFMA provides.
