December 5th is celebrated as a national holiday of Fathers day in Thailand. It is a day in remembrance of the late King Rama the 9th who has been viewed as the symbolic father of the Thai nation.
Every year IFMA and muaythai held important events to honour his late majesty, his Royal Patronage of Muaythai, his vision and mission towards a better Thailand and world.
Through the pandemic this event had to be cancelled in the previous years, but this year the event is back on and in full effect, at the special venue, The Icon Siam.
15 of the worlds best male and female athletes have been selected to participate in this event qualifications were held around the world including the world expo in Dubai. Qualified athletes come from all a 5 continents
The event is organised by the Royal Thai government SAT and NSDF and the world governing body IFMA.
His majesty King Rama the 10th and Her majesty the Queen have graciously bestowed the trophies which will be given to the most outstanding participants.
Athletes travelling in from all five continents will participate, from Canada, Malaysia, Ukraine, Australia, Iran, France, Brazil, Israel, South Korea, Spain, Iraq, Cambodia, USA, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, UAE and New Zealand.
There will be many IFMA VIPs in attendance. HRH Prince Fahad Bin Mansour Bin Saad Bin Saud Al Saud, president of Saudi Muaythai federation and IFMA board member was recently in Thailand for the press conference to promote the event together with the Governor of the SAT Dr Gongsak Yodmani, NSDF Manager Supranee Guptasa and the IFMA leadership.
