The city of Almaty held the Kazakhstan Youth Championships last week and made a team for the Youth World Championships 2017 in Bangkok which will take place 3-11 August and again gather the youth of the world to celebrate sport, friendship, and show the best version of themselves on the field of play.
A special contest for the best Wai Kru was a highlight of the event adding a welcome cultural element to the competition.
The event was fully supported by the Ministry of Sport of Kazakhstan, and attended by an array of Kazakh celebrities who were on hand to wish all the young athletes good luck.
The Kazakhstan Muaythai Federation is one of the most active IFMA member federations, and during the presidency of Mr. Karim Massimov, who is also President of FAMA, the Asian continental IFMA federation, became one of the leading muaythai countries in youth development, that contributed to the success of Kazakh athletes in the adult championships.
