3 days of Technical Webinars were organised by the IFMA with participation of representatives from over 100 National Federations. The webinars covered the updates to the IFMA Technical Rules & Regulations. Information was also provided on the upcoming IFMA World Virtual Championships.

 

IFMA President Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan opened the workshop, thanking all National Federations for their attendance, and for working in solidarity during these challenging times. He further thanked all the various commissions which cooperated on the virtual championships bringing opportunities to the Youth.

 

The IFMA Administration have been working closely with the various commissions to update and improve the IFMA rules & regulations towards making our sport competitive, fair and safe for our athletes. The updated version has been released to all of you at the beginning of the month. The updates and changes have been worked on by the IFMA President together with many of the IFMA commissions, Head of the Referee & Judges Commission Ajarn Somchai, Senior International Technical Officials Gunter Plank, Ryan Rudkin, Chair of Medical Commission Erdogan Aydin, Chair of Athletes Commission Janice Lyn representing the all our athletes, Senior Technical Delegates Dmitry Putilin and Dato Shahnaz Azmi and certainly the IFMA Secretary General Stephan Fox.

 

IFMA Secretary General Stephan Fox stated “Now more than ever, the IFMA family must promote inclusion, non-discrimination and stand by and for one another. The fact that over 100 national federations attended these webinars showcases the importance of continued change.”

 

IFMA Director Charissa Tynan thanked all the NFs Secretary Generals and Administrators for their ongoing close cooperation during these times, and while many competitions have been cancelled or postponed, the muaythai online campaign #MuaythaiConnects has been a vital tool for all IFMA members.

 

Ryan Rudkin, IFMA Senior ITO made a detailed presentation on all the rule changes that continue to put the health and safety of the athletes at the forefront of all IFMA’s work.
