The United Muaythai Association of India (UMAI) proudly marked the successful conclusion of the 7th National UMAI Senior Muaythai Championship 2026, held from 22–25 January at the iconic SS Convention Centre, Shamsabad, Hyderabad.


Over four action-packed days, India’s finest Muaythai athletes delivered outstanding performances defined by skill, discipline, and fighting spirit—transforming the championship into a true celebration of national excellence. The event highlighted the rapid growth of Muaythai across India and reaffirmed its position as one of the country’s most dynamic and fast-rising combat sports.

Strong Institutional Support
The championship was honoured by the presence of distinguished VIPs from the Ministry of Education, and government authorities. Their attendance and enthusiastic support reflected the increasing institutional recognition of Muaythai and its role in promoting discipline, respect, unity, and sporting excellence nationwide.

A Milestone for Indian Muaythai
More than a competition, the championship represented a significant milestone in India’s Muaythai journey—energising athletes and fans alike while laying a strong foundation for future international success.

Based on their outstanding results, gold medalists across all categories have been selected to represent India at the IFMA World Muaythai Championship 2026 in Malaysia, offering a major platform for Indian athletes on the global stage.

UMAI extended its gratitude to the World Muaythai Council (WMC) team—Mr. Balkrishna Setthy, Mr. Ashutosh Dadich, and Mr. IM Naveed—for their vital role in ensuring the smooth and professional execution of the championship.
