Muaythai is taking the United States by storm, with events now lighting up venues from coast to coast on a weekly basis. Fully recognized by the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee, Muaythai continues to build nationwide momentum, uniting elite athletes, grassroots talent, and a growing fanbase.

This past weekend, the spotlight was on California as the WCK Full Muaythai Rules event titled “Matter of Pride” electrified the Burbank Marriott Convention Center. With a packed house, a star-studded VIP section, and a powerful lineup of fights, the event reflected both the sport’s surging popularity and the local community’s passionate support for their Muaythai heroes.

One of the main highlights saw Habibullah Nazari crowned the new WMC USA Super Featherweight Champion after a thrilling five-round war against Jeremy Sanchez. The bout, widely regarded as a Fight of the Night contender, ended with a unanimous decision for Nazari—but not before both athletes received a standing ovation for their grit, heart, and outstanding performance.

Nazari humbly paid tribute to his opponent and team, extending his heartfelt thanks to USA Muaythai, the World Muaythai Council (WMC)IFMA, and WCK Muaythai for their continued efforts in growing the sport.

“It was an honor to share the ring with such a great opponent. I’m proud to be part of this growing movement,” he said.

Desiree Wodicker Claims WMC USA Female Title

The women’s division delivered its own fireworks as Desiree Wodicker emerged victorious in the 110–112 lbs category, defeating Jesse Sierra via unanimous decision. Over five intense rounds, Wodicker demonstrated outstanding technique, mental toughness, and ring intelligence to claim the WMC USA Female Title.

Wodicker dedicated her championship win to her team at CSA Gym, her family, and her supporters, promising to keep pushing her limits and make them proud.
