In a continued and decisive step toward raising standards and safeguarding the future of the sport, a comprehensive Muaythai Coaching Course was successfully delivered in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia, the National Coaching Academy Malaysia, and the Muaythai Federation of Malaysia, under the auspices of the International Federation of Muaythai Associations and the World Muaythai Council.

This initiative was designed to ensure the continued development of standardized gyms across the country — reinforcing technical excellence, athlete welfare, governance, and integrity at every level. It reflects Malaysia’s long-term vision to build not only champions in the ring, but leaders and professionals who uphold the highest values of Muaythai.
Khan Muaythai Technical Seminar
A highlight of the programme was the Khan Muaythai Technical Seminar, which focused on equipping coaches and educators with the tools to formally integrate Muaythai into kindergartens, schools, universities, and clubs across IPTA and IPTS. The seminar covered:
- How to teach school students in public settings
- Structured pathways to upgrade Khan every four months
- Methods of teaching Muaythai without equipment
- Calculating PAJSK scores for school Muaythai clubs and point counting for IPTA
- Detailed modules including Khan, Wai Kru/Mai Muay, Chok Lom, Keeta Muaythai, Lor Pao, and more
The seminar was enriched by the presence of distinguished speakers: Professor Ajarn Surat Sianglor, Muaythai superstar Ognjen Topic, and Siwakon Muekthong, who shared their knowledge and experience to inspire the next generation of educators and practitioners.

Unified Education for Coaches and Promoters
Once again, the course went far beyond technical instruction. In a progressive and forward-thinking move, promoters were also included in the education programme to ensure full clarity on rules, responsibilities, safeguarding obligations, and the shared duty of care across the entire Muaythai ecosystem. By aligning coaches, gym owners, and promoters within one unified educational framework, Malaysia continues to set a national benchmark for structured and responsible growth of the sport.

Speaking on behalf of the Federation, Dato Shannaz Azmi, President of the Muaythai Federation of Malaysia and Chair of the FM Education Commission, stated:
“Education is the foundation of excellence. When we educate our coaches and promoters together, we protect our athletes, strengthen our governance, and secure the future of Muaythai in Malaysia. Standardisation is not about restriction — it is about raising the bar and ensuring every gym operates with integrity, safety, and professionalism.”
Commitment to the Future
The programme reinforces Malaysia’s commitment to structured development pathways, ethical event promotion, and athlete-first principles — fully aligned with international best practice and global Muaythai standards.

With strong governmental partnership and unified leadership, Malaysia continues to demonstrate that education is not an option — it is a responsibility.
Through knowledge, discipline, and unity, Muaythai in Malaysia moves forward — stronger, safer, and more professional than ever.
