In the elite male division, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong, Portugal, France, AIN, Vietnam, USA, Ukraine, Palestine, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Spain, Iraq, Canada, Israel and Turkmenistan all booked their way to the next round with a major upset, Narek Khachikyan from Armenia beating Thai Champion Suppawat Songkong.

The female division saw Turkey, USA, Italy, Thailand, Hungary, Belgium, AIN, Mexico, Slovakia and Ukraine making their way into the quarter finals.

There were so many outstanding bouts with many upsets in the male division, Pak Yu Leung from Hong Kong beating Asian Champion Ahmed Alshamman from UAE and Greece’s, Mario Gusho, beating the Asian champion Manh Hoang Dinh from Vietnam and Ahmad Abu Zaid, from Jordan beating Adel Darras from Canada.

The 54kg female division showed strength and heart with Challenger Champion and superstar, Laura Burgos winning against Roksana Dargiel from Poland and current World Champion Monika Chochlikova beating France’s Nadia Slimani for the set up of the quarter final bouts between probably the world’s best females.
