Over the last two years muaythai in Saudi Arabia has grown into a thriving federation which is fully recognised by the National Olympic Committee of Saudi Arabia and the Sports Ministry under the presidency of His Highness Prince Fahad Al Saud.
His Highness has a strong vision to build muaythai in Saudi Arabia alongside the countries vision 2030 on strong grass roots development and international engagement.
His Royal Highness Prince Fahad stated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is very proud to have been awarded the 2023 World Combat Games in which muaythai is one of the 15 combat sports and martial arts included.
This is why the federation must continue to develop and is the reason only recently an important instructor seminar took place. This weekend the official technical seminar will be held in full cooperation with the National Olympic Committee in which the top IFMA and WMC officials will participate.
Speaking at the seminar will be IFMA General Secretary, Stephan Fox, the Head of the IFMA Medical Commission, Doctor Erdogan Aydin, the European Chair of the IFMA technical Gunter Plank and Head of the WMC Technical Commission and Chair of Lumpinee stadium, Ajarn Thanong Poompanich.
Ajarn Thanong stated that these seminars are important to ensure that all aspects are covered from the athletes health, well being, the weigh in and an overall clear understanding of IFMA round robin and WMC competition formats.
The workshop will be held over 3 days inside the Olympic compound of Riyadh.
