Mexico City, September 29, 2025 – The Pan American Muaythai Championships came to a successful close after four thrilling days of competition, from September 26 to 29, at the prestigious Villas Tlalpan High Performance Center in Mexico City.

Mexico was given the trust and honor to host this important event on the IFMA calendar. At the opening ceremony, Oscar Pérez, President of the Mexican Muaythai Federation, expressed his pride in welcoming the Pan American muaythai family back to Mexico, recalling the unforgettable IFMA World Championships held in Cancún in 2018.

The championships brought together athletes from across Pan America, with strong teams from Canada, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, the USA, and host nation Mexico, reflecting the growing strength and unity of muaythai throughout the region.

The competition was held under IFMA’s core values of inclusion, fair play, respect, and solidarity, showcasing not only athletic excellence but also the cultural and sporting friendships that define muaythai. Rommel Pacheco, representing the Ministry of Sport, officially welcomed the athletes, while Rooge Thammongkol, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Mexico, underlined the deep cultural ties and friendship between Thailand — the motherland of muaythai — and the Pan American nations.

The event, broadcast live each day, featured the very best athletes from the Pan American region going toe-to-toe in bouts filled with skill, courage, and passion.

In the team standings, the United States secured first place, Colombia second, and Canada proudly claimed third.

The success of the 2025 Pan American Muaythai Championships reflects the dedication of the athletes, coaches, and national federations, and demonstrates once more that muaythai is more than a sport — it is a way of life, promoting discipline, respect, inclusion, and cultural exchange across the Americas.

Congratulations to all athletes and to host nation Mexico for an outstanding championship.
