
As the world’s youth showcased their skills at the IFMA Youth World Championships 2025 in Abu Dhabi, the global Muaythai community came together for the IFMA Annual General Assembly—a defining moment for the sport, its leaders, and its athletes.






The Assembly, the heartbeat of IFMA, an IOC-recognized organization, is where democracy, strategic vision, and collective responsibility meet. It ensures that Muaythai develops ethically, efficiently, and inclusively, honoring its legacy as both a cultural heritage and an Olympic-style sport, while placing athletes and stakeholders at the center of every decision.

The Assembly opened with a heartfelt Roll Call and the Honouring of the Departed, paying tribute to those who shaped the sport and left a lasting legacy. IFMA President Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan welcomed delegates with a message of unity and progress, while Director General Charissa Tynan officially opened the session with a powerful call to action.


IFMA Secretary General Stephan Fox delivered a keynote address and IOC report, emphasizing IFMA’s role in global sport governance and its commitment to youth empowerment, inclusion, and Olympic values.

- Governance & Policy: Approval of key policies, rules, and amendments to IFMA’s constitution and statutes, reinforcing transparency, integrity, and accountability.
- Financial Oversight: Reports and budgets were reviewed and endorsed by IFMA’s member national federations, ensuring robust and sustainable growth.
- Long-Term Vision: Adoption of the IFMA Agenda 2030, a roadmap for a decade of innovation, development, and global expansion.
- Athlete & Event Development: Presentation and approval of the international competition calendar and the IFMA World Education Program 2026, which will provide advanced training and educational opportunities for athletes, coaches, and referees worldwide.
- Global Collaboration: Delegates shared experiences, best practices, and initiatives from their countries, strengthening international cooperation and the Olympic spirit of friendship, respect, and excellence.
