IFMA is a proud member of the World Games family and considers the World Games as one of the major highlights on the IFMA calendar. The 2021 World Games will be held in beautiful Birmingham, Alabama and the 24-month qualifier will go across five continents.

The Arafura Games, one of the premier multi sport events in the Asia and Pacific region was opening for the qualifying series. After five days of competition in the venue packed to the bursting point with electrifying atmosphere the first winners have been announced. In the female 57 kg division Anaelle Angerville from France booked the first ticket to Birmingham and to add more notch to the glory she was also awarded Outstanding Female Athlete of the event.

The second female spot went to Pia Salgado from Australia winning the Oceania Qualifier to fly the Australian flag in Birmingham.

In the 63.5 kg division muaythai superstar Igor Liubchenko from Ukraine the winner of the 2017 World Games again booked his spot for the 2021 edition. The first athlete in the IFMA history to qualify for two consecutive Games.

 

In 57 kg division it was Kazakhstan which booked the spot and can start to pack for Birmingham. In the 63.5 kg female division Australia booked their second spot with Zoe Putorak celebrating the victory in Darwin.

The next qualifying series with the IFMA point system will be at the World Championships in July in Bangkok followed by the Asian Championships in Abu Dhabi and European Championships in Minsk.

World Games 2021, here we come!!
