The Olympic run in Thailand was a huge success with over 12,000 participants coming together in the early hours of the 24th of June to do a five or ten kilometre run. IFMA and United Through Sport certainly were there in full force to not only participate but also take the opportunity for important meetings with the President of the NOC of Thailand General Prawit who is also the Deputy Prime Minister, the Prime Minister General Prayuth, the Minister of Tourism and Sports Weerasak Kowsurat and the Vice President of the Olympic Committee General Charouk.
IFMA General Secretary and GAISF Vice President Stephan Fox lead the IFMA team together with Charissa Tynan the Sport Director. AIMS was represented by Executive Secretary Panida Otteson, United Through Sport Julia Govinden, FAMA was represented by Azadeh Kamyabi, the European Muaythai Federation by Gleb Kalita and the list goes on.
IFMA Sport Director Charissa Tynan stated that it was a great opportunity for a great morning workout but also to remind us of the Olympic values.
Julia Govinden from United Through Sport stated that this morning brought together not only all of the representatives of sport from Thailand but also showcased that we must continue our efforts and that sport for all is important and must be practiced without any discrimination.
IFMA President Doctor Sakchye Tapsuwan also particpated in the event again showcasing that age is only a number.
