Muaythai under IFMA will continue the campaign To End Violence against Women and Girls in cooperation with UNWomen.

The campaign has been taken to many countries with special event held in Monaco in the presence of His Serene Highness, Prince Albert II, in Saint Tropez endorsed by Mademoiselle Brigitte Bardot, part of King’s Cup in Thailand just to name the few.

Muaythai Goes Orange has been done around the world. In Mexico over 100 participants joined the campaign. Muaythai superstar Buakaw Banchamek on behalf of IFMA has joined the campaign in the television promo.

Again, Muaythai Day certainly will honour the campaign and we must continue to use the power of sport to create a better world. A special UN Women trophy will be given and this year it will be Thai superstar Saifah T. Teeiasawas, against Australian Jasmine Whybird.

Sue Latta, president of the Oceania Muaythai Federation and Vice President of IFMA said that we, as the recognised world sport, have social responsibilities. We all can be proud that all national federations participate not only in our cooperation with UN Women but also in our Sport Is Your Gang campaign.

On the sporting side it is also fantastic promotion as the Olympic Committee of Asia and the Oceania Olympic Committee have signed an agreement for Oceania to participate next year in the Asian Indoor Martial Arts Games, in which female muaythai will be one of the most outstanding competitions.
