The United Arab Emirates made their official debut in the World Championships coming as a total outsider in the competition.

Much development work under the new federation members Tariq Mohamed Al Mehairi.and Fahd Khalfan Al Abdooli in parallel with the close cooperation with IFMA’s development programme is now bearing fruits.

Three UAE athletes made history by reaching the semi finals by beating leading powerhouses such as Russia and silencing the whole enthusiastic homecrowd by beating Mexico and Peru.

Today they will enter the semi finals and have established themselves as one of the most recognisable national teams in the Middle East region.
