Every day the International World Games Association awards prizes for the male and female IWGA Athlete of the Day – powered by Tissot! On Sunday, the jury of experts selected Speed Skater Sandrine Tas (BEL) and Speed Climber Reza Alipourshenazandifar (IRI). IWGA Board Member Tom Dielen presented the champions with their Tissot watches on the stage of The World Games Plaza next to National Forum of Music.

Sandrine Tas begun her World Games with a bronze medal on Friday. On Saturday, she achieved silver medal. Yesterday she first won silver and then – gold. Four medals of four races and what is the best: she has four races to go! “Of course I aim to win them all”, she said today, but added that the competition is tough. About the competitions at The World Games she said that the facilities are in top shape, and she has really had fun in Wroclaw.

Reza Alipourshenazandifar is at the moment the fastest man on earth. Not only did he win The World Games title in Speed Climbing Saturday evening, he also owns the World Record in the discipline. The 23-year-old faced his final race at The World Games alone – his competitor in the final had a false start – but he was able to keep himself together despite the situation and finish with the fastest time of the competition, 5.57. His gold medal is the first ever gold medal for Iran at The World Games.
