Blending sport and education is the foundation of Olympism, and IFMA is truly proud to be recognised by FISU and to be included in the official FISU World Championship programme.

The cooperation on all levels between IFMA President Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwana and FISU President Oleg Matytsin, IFMA General Secretary Stephan Fox, FISU CEO Eric Saintrond, and IFMA Sport Director Charissa Tynan, and World Championships sport director Paolo Ferreira shows the extent of how close these two organisations work together.

IFMA is establishing National University Championships around the world, and this weekend it was Turkey with participants of over 60 universities and around 1000 participants which shows the popularity of muaythai at the university level.
Turkish Muaythai President Mr. Halil Durna stated that muaythai in Turkey is practiced from the grassroots level, with emphasis on the youth and our future academics. The fact that so many university students participated shows the popularity in general.
