The Turkish Muaythai Federation successfully organised the Halil Durna U23 and Elite Senior Muaythai Championship, held from April 11-16, 2025, at the Antalya Sports Hall. The event, named after the late former president Mr. Halil Durna, saw athletes competing for five days in an exciting showcase of skill, determination, and sportsmanship.

Athletes battled in high-quality matches for the coveted gold medals, with an exceptional level of organisation ensuring a smooth and memorable competition. The winners of the championship were honoured with their medals, marking the culmination of an intense and thrilling tournament.

The athletes who secured first place in the competition will go on to represent Turkey at the Senior World Muaythai Championship, which will take place in Antalya from May 22-31, 2025. Additionally, the top four finishers in the Elite Senior category will earn the opportunity to compete in the prestigious Spor Toto Muaythai Super League, with champions from the league qualifying for the European Muaythai Championship.

Hasan Yıldız, President of the Turkish Muaythai Federation and the European Muaythai Federation (EMF), expressed his pride in the success of the event, noting that the popularity of Muaythai in Turkey is at an all-time high. He emphasised that the flow, system, and organisational quality of the event were of international standards. Furthermore, Yıldız highlighted the Federation’s ongoing commitment to spreading Muaythai to local communities through global initiatives such as social projects, award nights, environmental policies, and more, all in alignment with the principles of the World Muaythai Federation (IFMA) and the European Muaythai Federation (EMF).
